ABOUT ME
Greetings!
I’m Joy Rosenthal. I have been photographing since 1986 when my father gave me my first 35mm film camera for my high school graduation.
I have been teaching for over 20 years, and I am currently an Instructor of Digital Photography at Virginia Tech, School of Visual Arts in Blacksburg, Virginia. I have taught basic film photography, alternative processes, studio and illustrated photography, digital art, and digital photography.
I aim to explore and express my understanding of photography through the picture frame. I create photographs of landscapes, still-lifes, people, and collaborate to create photographs of rats. I love experimenting with light, editing, and printing. I believe in exploring and creating new means of expression.
Thank you for looking at my website.
